FISHING
REPORT
We have had a couple of weeks of wild weather in the mountains with more snow falling and rain in the valleys.
Lake Jindabyne is rising and it looks like a fantastic spring coming up as there is water over grassy banks already. The snow pack is increasing so we will have good run off for all the mountain streams.
The lake is fishing well at the moment with lots of visitors catching fish off the banks on their days off the snow. Polaroiding has been difficult due to wind and cloud but the anglers that are going out are catching nice fish just stripping Wooly Buggers.......

NEW PRODUCTS IN STORE
High Country Outfitters has a big range of new products in store.
Sage have released new models, the TCX replacing the TCR with a Generation 5 rod that is now user friendly and perfect for the angler who loves fast action and wind! The new Flight range has been huge as they are great rods for the price and the new Vantage series is popular with beginners and lovers of nice action rods that are very forgiving.
The new 4500 series reels are superb and are also available with carbon fibre spools. The 1600, 1800 and 2000 series reels are always in stock as they offer great value for money and suit all budgets.
Wading boots are always changing since the banning of felt in New Zealand as everyone is looking for the best boot to buy for all situations. Sticky rubber and studs are all the go but felt is still the best to use when you can and if you are looking for a boot just for Australia buy felt! You can always put studs in to give you grip walking in or fishing lakes etc! We have Korkers with interchangeable soles that can be used in Australia as well as New Zealand and the new Chota Rocloc sole is popular. Simms have the new Vibram sole and Vision have a great Aquastealth sole that comes with or without studs.
We have new waders in from Riverworks and are now becoming our best sellers. The B5 has now been replaced with the XRT which has to be the most up to date wader around. Laser cut seams and super tough, and the popular B3 is now the B4 which has more layers below the knee.
Fly lines are always improving and the SA Sharkskin is now available in the famous GPX Taper. This line is fantastic, short casts, wind, mending, rollcasting, you name it! For some they are noisy, and some don’t like finger burn while stripping but this is a great line. The only thing stopping them from lasting season after season are boot studs!
The new RIO TROUT LT is very popular especially with smaller weight rods and those who love the dry.
Lots of new DVD’s are in stock and we have heaps of fly tying materials in to get you through winter ready for next season.
We are open 7 days and can give you all the right advice for your next adventure.
